Odhiambo’s new role has stirred debate, with some questioning whether her dual position could affect her independence as head of the LSK. Civil society groups and legal professionals are closely monitoring her actions, highlighting the delicate balance between political engagement and legal advocacy.

In response, Odhiambo has defended her involvement, arguing that it will help ensure justice and fair compensation for victims while strengthening the rule of law. Supporters view her appointment as an opportunity for meaningful reform and victim-centred justice, while critics caution against potential conflicts of interest.

The development has intensified public discussion on the intersection of law, politics, and accountability in Kenya.
