(In Ghana) Azamati Falls Short in 100m Heats at World Championships


Ghanaian sprinter Benjamin Azamati has bowed out of the 100m event at the World Athletics Championships after failing to advance past the heats. The 27-year-old clocked 10.30 seconds to finish sixth in Heat 5, missing out on a semi-final slot.

Speaking to reporters after the race, Azamati admitted he was puzzled by his performance, saying he could not identify what went wrong. The result comes as a disappointment for Ghanaian athletics fans who had hoped for a stronger showing from the sprinter, known for his speed and past record-breaking performances.
