Four Shot at Birmingham Nightclub, Three Arrested

A shooting at a nightclub in Birmingham has left four people injured, including one man who is in critical condition. Emergency services were called to the Mango nightclub on Bristol Street at around 3:00am and found three men and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The incident quickly triggered a major police response as officers secured the scene and began investigations into what is being described as violent disorder.

West Midlands Police confirmed that three people, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested shortly afterwards in Warwickshire. The suspects were located in a car on the M6 motorway and are currently being held in custody for questioning. Detectives are now piecing together how events unfolded inside the nightclub and are working to determine the motive behind the attack.

Bristol Street, one of Birmingham’s busiest central routes, has been closed southbound from the Pagoda Island to Bromsgrove Street while forensic teams carry out investigations. Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area as cordons remain in place. Police said the closure is expected to last for several hours.

Acting Chief Inspector Michael Clarke has appealed directly to the public for information following the nightclub shooting. He stressed the importance of eyewitness accounts and footage in helping officers understand the full circumstances. Clarke highlighted that the incident happened in a packed venue and on a busy road in the early hours, meaning there are likely to be several potential witnesses.

He asked anyone who was in the Mango nightclub at the time to come forward, particularly those who may have recorded footage on their phones. In addition, drivers who passed along Bristol Street around the time of the incident are urged to check dashcams for anything unusual.

Police believe these details will be vital in securing charges against the arrested suspects and in protecting the wider community. Officers are also working with nightclub staff and nearby businesses to gather security camera recordings.

While violent incidents of this scale remain rare in the city, the shooting has raised concern among residents and clubgoers. Police reassured the public that patrols would be stepped up in the city centre to maintain safety and order.
