Yashin Trophy 2025 Nominees for Men and Women Announced


The list of nominees for the 2025 Yashin Trophy, awarded to the best male goalkeeper in world football, has been officially announced. Ten outstanding keepers from across top leagues and international tournaments made the shortlist. Among them are Brazil’s Alisson Becker and Belgium’s Thibaut Courtois, both consistent performers at the highest level.

Other nominees include World Cup-winning Emiliano Martínez from Argentina, Morocco’s Yassine Bounou, France’s Lucas Chevalier, and Italy’s Gianluigi Donnarumma. Also featured are Jan Oblak of Slovenia, Spain’s David Raya, Matz Sels from Belgium, and Switzerland’s Yann Sommer. This year’s competition highlights both experienced veterans and emerging talents. The winner will be crowned at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris on 22 September 2025.



The women’s equivalent of the Yashin Trophy, known as the Yachine Trophy, also revealed its 2025 nominees. Among the standout names is Chiamaka Nnadozie of Nigeria and Brighton, whose performances have drawn international acclaim. Joining her on the shortlist are Gotham FC and Germany’s Ann-Katrin Berger and Barcelona’s Cata Coll, who starred for Spain on both club and international stages.

Chelsea and England’s Hannah Hampton also made the cut alongside Arsenal and Netherlands goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar. This lineup reflects a strong mix of experience and youth, with players having excelled in domestic leagues and major tournaments alike. The recognition of goalkeepers like Nnadozie is also a milestone for African representation at the global level. The winner will be revealed alongside other major Ballon d'Or awards in Paris this September.
