Malaysia. Pulasan, a tropical fruit closely related to rambutan, grows best in hot, humid climates and Malaysia provides the perfect environment. It’s not just native to the region, but it’s also where the fruit is most widely cultivated and consumed. States like Perak, Johor, Selangor, and Pahang are known for their pulasan farms and backyard trees. While countries like Indonesia and Thailand also grow pulasan, their production levels are much smaller. Malaysia remains the top producer, with both commercial and homegrown cultivation leading the way.
