What If VAR Existed Back Then? 🤯⚽️

 `

VAR has flipped football upside down since 2018 checking goals, pens, red cards & offsides.

But imagine if it existed DECADES earlier…

Here are 10 famous matches VAR would’ve changed forever 👇

1966 World Cup Final – England 🏴 vs Germany 🇩🇪 (4-2 AET)

Geoff Hurst’s “did it cross the line?” goal was given. Replays show it didn’t fully cross. VAR = ❌ Goal.

England might never have lifted their only World Cup. 🏆

1986 WC QF – Argentina 🇦🇷 vs England 🏴 (2-1)

Maradona’s “Hand of God” 🤚 counted. VAR disallows it instantly.

No handball goal → 1-1 draw? Maybe England win? Argentina’s title run & Diego’s legacy look VERY different.

2002 WC R16 – South Korea 🇰🇷 vs Italy 🇮🇹 (2-1 AET)

Totti wrongly sent off for “diving” when he was fouled in the box.

VAR: ✅ Penalty for Italy, ❌ Red card. Azzurri probably go through. (And Korea’s miracle run ends early).

2002 WC QF – South Korea 🇰🇷 vs Spain 🇪🇸 (0-0, 5-3 pens)

Spain had TWO legitimate goals wrongly chalked off for offside.

VAR overturns → Spain go through. No Korean semifinal fairytale.

Darren Bent scored via… a BEACH BALL thrown by fans. 🤦‍♂️

VAR: ❌ Goal ruled out, as an “outside agent” interfered. Liverpool escape with at least a draw.

2010 WC R16 – England 🏴 vs Germany 🇩🇪 (1-4)

Lampard’s thunderstrike hit the bar, crossed the line… waved away.

VAR = ✅ Goal → 2-2 at HT. England back in it. Maybe no humiliation?

2011-12 Serie A – AC Milan vs Juventus (1-1)

Muntari’s header was CLEARLY over the line. No goal given.

VAR = ✅ Goal, 2-0 Milan. They likely win & take the Scudetto instead of Juve.

2013-14 La Liga Decider – Barcelona vs Atlético (1-1)

Messi’s winner wrongly ruled offside. VAR = ✅ Goal.

Barça win 2-1, snatch the title. Atlético’s fairytale crown never happens.

Which one do you think changes history the most? 👀
