Van De Ven Apologises After Penalty Miss in Spurs’ UEFA Super Cup Defeat to PSG


Tottenham defender Van De Ven has apologised to fans after missing his penalty in the shootout of their UEFA Super Cup loss to PSG. Spurs had been 2–0 ahead thanks to goals from Van De Ven and Romero, but PSG struck late to level the match.

Manager Thomas Frank praised his side’s performance despite the heartbreaking defeat, describing the match as a “special operation” with an excellent display but a cruel outcome.

In his message, Van De Ven expressed disappointment at letting supporters down and promised to return stronger. The club also condemned racist abuse directed at teammate Mathys Tel, calling the perpetrators “cowards” and pledging full cooperation with authorities.
