Manchester City winger Savinho is stepping up efforts to join Tottenham Hotspur, reportedly flying in his agents to Europe to push through a potential transfer. According to the Daily Mail, Frederico Moraes of ProManager left Brazil on Thursday to meet Spurs for talks next week. The 21-year-old Brazilian is valued by City at £67 million, after the club signed him just a year ago for around £35 million. Tottenham have already seen a £42 million bid rejected but may return with a higher offer.
Savinho is understood to want regular Premier League football ahead of the 2026 World Cup and is determined to leave City, where he has often been a fringe player. In 48 appearances under Pep Guardiola, he has managed three goals and 13 assists. His form at City has not yet matched the promise he showed during a loan spell at Girona in 2023-24, where he scored 11 goals and registered 10 assists.
Savinho’s push for a Tottenham move could trigger further transfer activity at Manchester City. Reports suggest that if the Brazilian departs, Pep Guardiola may target Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, who has been linked with a summer exit from Spain. Spurs, meanwhile, are expected to test City’s resolve with an improved offer, though it remains to be seen if they can meet the £67 million asking price.
Savinho still has four years left on his City contract, giving the Premier League champions a strong negotiating position. However, his desire to secure regular minutes could influence the club’s willingness to sell. His time at City has seen flashes of quality but limited opportunities in a squad packed with attacking talent.
The winger’s move from Troyes to City in 2023 was part of a long-term development plan, but his standout season at Girona raised expectations that he would play a bigger role in England. Now, with Tottenham keen to add pace and creativity to their attack, Savinho sees a switch to north London as the best way to cement his place in Brazil’s national team setup ahead of the next World Cup. The coming week of negotiations could prove decisive for his future.
