Isak returns to Newcastle training base & set for crunch talks

 

Alexander Isak has rejoined Newcastle United’s training camp after causing a stir by missing the club’s pre-season tour of Asia. Instead, the Swedish international trained privately at the facility of his former club, Real Sociedad, citing a thigh injury. However, the timing of his absence raised suspicions, as it closely followed strong interest from Liverpool, who have made the striker a top transfer target this summer. Newcastle turned down a £110 million offer from the Merseyside club, with their valuation firmly set at £150 million. Isak’s decision to skip team activities caught manager Eddie Howe by surprise, with reports claiming he only learned of the striker’s location through the media. Isak returned to the club’s base on Monday, becoming the only player present while the rest of the squad were granted time off following their overseas tour.
