(In UK) Charlbury Residents Stage ‘Dance Against Vance’ Protest During US Vice President’s Cotswolds Visit

In Charlbury, Cotswolds, around 100 residents took to the streets for a “Dance Against Vance” protest during US Vice President JD Vance’s holiday in the area.

Organised by the Stop Trump Coalition, the demonstration blended music, cake, and satirical memes mocking Vance, while calling out his stance on Ukraine, Gaza, and environmental issues.

Protesters also expressed frustration over heavy security measures that shut roads, disrupted visitors, and brought an influx of US Secret Service agents into the small rural town. Some locals compared the spectacle to a Hollywood movie set, criticising the security presence as “over the top.”

The Cotswolds often linked with affluence and celebrity has faced soaring property prices and pressure on local services, problems residents say Vance’s visit fails to address.
