(In Uganda) Electoral Commission Revises 2025–2026 Roadmap Ahead of General Elections


The Electoral Commission of Uganda has announced adjustments to the 2025–2026 electoral roadmap, revising candidate nomination dates and updating voter registration plans. With government funding secured, the commission reaffirmed its readiness to deliver transparent and inclusive polls.

As the January 12, 2026 general elections draw closer, the updated roadmap outlines preparations for local government, parliamentary, and special interest group positions. Spokesperson Julius Mucunguzi emphasized the commission’s commitment to fairness, inclusivity, and logistical efficiency in managing the electoral process.
