(In South Africa) Julius Malema Wins Hate Speech Case Against Kenny Kunene


In South Africa, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has secured a legal victory against suspended Patriotic Alliance Deputy President Kenny Kunene.

The Gauteng High Court dismissed Kunene's appeal against a 2023 ruling that deemed his description of Malema as "a cockroach, a little frog, and criminal" as hate speech.

The court ordered Kunene to issue a formal apology to Malema within one month of the verdict for using the term "cockroach," reinforcing the earlier judgment.
