(In Nigeria) Outrage as FG Moves to Appoint Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde aka Kwam 1 as Aviation Security Protocol Ambassador

Nigeria is abuzz with controversy as netizens voice frustration and disbelief over the Federal Government’s plan to appoint Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, as an Ambassador for Aviation Security Protocol.

The announcement, made by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo on August 13, 2025, follows a recent incident involving KWAM 1 at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where he allegedly disrupted operations during an altercation with ValueJet Airlines staff.

The decision has ignited heated discussions online, with many Nigerians questioning the government’s choice to elevate an individual recently involved in a breach of airport protocol to a role meant to promote compliance. Critics argue this move highlights a troubling trend of influential figures flouting the nation’s laws without consequence.

Despite KWAM 1’s public apology, where he claimed the incident involved a misunderstanding over a medical water container, the appointment has fueled debates about accountability and privilege in Nigeria
