Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo is under heavy criticism after a disturbing video surfaced showing members of his security taskforce, the Agunechemba Vigilante Group (popularly known as Ụdọ ga chi), physically assaulting a female corps member in Oba.

Reports indicate that the vigilante operatives stormed the corpers’ lodge, accusing residents of engaging in internet fraud, commonly referred to as “Yahoo Yahoo.” During the raid, several occupants were allegedly attacked, with one corps member, Jennifer Edema Elohor, filmed being severely whipped by the operatives.
The footage has triggered widespread outrage, with many Nigerians condemning the brutality and questioning the governor’s leadership style. Critics argue that the incident reflects a dangerous abuse of power and a disregard for the rule of law. The calls for accountability are growing, with demands for justice for the victims and for the state government to take immediate action against the perpetrators.
