Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace, has secured approval from Brazil to operate direct flights from Lagos to São Paulo, marking a milestone in Nigeria-Brazil relations. The agreement was finalized during President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to Brazil, where he met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

According to Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to President Tinubu on information and strategy, the deal was sealed with a Bilateral Air Services Agreement signed by Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, and Brazil’s Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho. This initiative aims to enhance trade, tourism, and cultural ties between Africa’s largest economy and South America’s biggest market.
