(In Kenya) Tragedy at Daraja Mbili: Runaway Lorry Kills Two, Sparks Calls for Safer Roads


A tragic accident at Daraja Mbili market in Kenya has left at least two people dead and several others injured after a lorry reportedly lost its brakes and plowed into vehicles and pedestrians.

The deadly crash involved a Toyota Prado, a Probox, multiple motorbikes, and roadside vendors, causing widespread devastation in the bustling trading hub. Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as emergency responders scrambled to rescue victims from the wreckage.

Many traders, whose livelihoods depend on daily sales, suffered significant losses as their stalls and goods were destroyed.

The lorry driver has been taken into custody, and investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the crash.

In the aftermath, residents and local leaders are calling on authorities to urgently implement stricter traffic regulations and redesign the area to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
