(In Kenya) EACC Probes MPs as Ruto Launches Multi-Agency War on Corruption


Kenya’s anti-graft body, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), has launched investigations into Members of Parliament following President William Ruto’s accusation that lawmakers have turned Parliament into a “marketplace for extortion.”

EACC Chairperson David Oginde confirmed that probes are underway into allegations of bribery, inflated allowances, misuse of public funds, and the collection of protection fees. He warned that no legislator will be spared once sufficient evidence is established.



In a parallel move, President Ruto unveiled a powerful Multi-Agency Team on the War Against Corruption (MAT), bringing together the EACC, NIS, KRA, ODPP, DCI, CBK, and PPRA. The task force is tasked with strengthening collaboration, enhancing asset recovery, and restoring public trust in government institutions.
