Ghana’s Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu Lauded for Securing Transformative Education Deal with Japan

 


Ghana’s Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, is receiving widespread praise in Ghana for brokering a significant bilateral education agreement with Japan. Following a successful working visit to Japan, Iddrisu announced that the agreement was formalized by A.B.E. Toshiko, Japan’s Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), on behalf of the Japanese government.

The partnership focuses on promoting inclusive, high-quality education, with a particular emphasis on sustainable development and equipping Ghanaian youth with critical digital skills. This landmark deal aligns with Ghana’s Education Strategic Plan (2018–2030) and aims to foster innovation, teacher training, and green skills development, strengthening educational ties between the two nations.
