Fulham have entered into discussions with AC Milan over a permanent transfer for Samuel Chukwueze. The Nigerian international joined Milan in the summer of 2023 from Villarreal with high expectations, but his spell in Italy has been underwhelming so far. Across 70 appearances for the Rossoneri, he has scored only eight goals and provided six assists. For a right winger brought in to add attacking spark, those numbers have not met expectations.

Milan have never completely closed the door on selling Chukwueze this summer, especially with growing doubts about his ability to establish himself as a regular starter. Fulham’s interest has existed since January, but until now it had remained in the background. Journalist Matteo Moretto recently hinted that a late attempt from the London club was likely, and indeed talks are now underway between both parties.
The Italian club are clear in their stance that they will only consider a permanent deal, rejecting any potential loan offers. This requirement aligns with Fulham’s current proposal and represents a step forward in negotiations. However, at this stage no transfer fee has been officially mentioned by either club in the media.
Reports suggest AC Milan would likely ask for around €25 to €30 million if they are to part ways with Samuel Chukwueze. The winger, who arrived with strong credentials from Villarreal, has struggled to consistently deliver performances in Serie A. Although flashes of quality have been evident, the overall impact has not been enough to secure his long-term future at San Siro.

For Fulham, the move could provide an attacking reinforcement as they look to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes. The London side had first shown interest in Chukwueze during the January window but never moved forward with a concrete offer. Now, with negotiations active, their pursuit appears more serious. Milan’s insistence on a permanent sale could play in their favor if they are willing to meet the asking price.
Chukwueze remains in Milan’s squad for the time being and is expected to be their main attacking option off the bench when they face Lecce on Friday. That underlines the fact that Milan have not rushed to push him out, but rather are waiting for the right deal. Developments are expected to follow quickly if Fulham make a decisive offer.
