Ecuadorian defender Piero Hincapié has expressed strong interest in joining Arsenal, describing Mikel Arteta’s project as highly appealing. The Gunners have already made an official approach to Bayer Leverkusen, though no formal bid has yet been submitted.

Any potential move depends on Arsenal finalising outgoing transfers, with Jakub Kiwior linked to Porto and Oleksandr Zinchenko also tipped for an exit. Their departures would free both financial resources and squad space for Hincapié’s arrival.
Tottenham previously explored a loan-with-obligation offer, but with that interest cooling, Arsenal are now in a favourable position to secure the 22-year-old defender.
Hincapié, contracted with Leverkusen until 2029 and protected by a €60 million release clause, is admired for his versatility at centre-back and left-back. His progressive style and defensive solidity align closely with Arsenal’s tactical needs, making him a key target in their summer plans.
