SEYCHELLES Smallest African country

Seychelles is a breathtaking island nation located in the Indian Ocean, about 1,600 kilometers (1,000 miles) east of mainland Africa. It consists of 115 islands, with Mahé being the largest and most populated. The capital city, Victoria, is located on Mahé and serves as the cultural and economic hub of the country. Though small in land area, Seychelles is rich in natural beauty, featuring lush tropical forests, granite and coral islands, crystal-clear waters, and pristine beaches.

The population of Seychelles is just over 100,000 people, making it the smallest African country by both land area and population. The country is a melting pot of cultures, with influences from Africa, Europe, and Asia reflected in its Creole language, cuisine, and music. English, French, and Seychellois Creole are the official languages. The nation has a stable political system and relatively high living standards compared to many other African countries.

Tourism is the backbone of the Seychellois economy, with visitors drawn to its luxury resorts, marine parks, and iconic beaches like Anse Lazio and Anse Source d'Argent. The government is committed to environmental conservation, and over half of the country's landmass is protected, making Seychelles a global leader in eco-tourism and biodiversity preservation. Despite its small size, Seychelles has carved a unique identity as a paradise island nation with a strong emphasis on sustainability and cultural heritage.
