Nigerian Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Denied Entry to National Assembly Amid Suspension Dispute

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was barred from entering the National Assembly premises today, despite her attempt to resume duties following a recent court ruling.

While she insists the judgment nullified her suspension, others argue the court merely offered guidance without issuing a direct reinstatement order.

The standoff has sparked debate over the limits of judicial power and legislative compliance.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of acting above the constitution by disregarding what she views as a binding decision.

However, legal interpretations vary, with some analysts noting the ruling may have lacked explicit enforcement directives.

The Clerk of the National Assembly has deferred to the Senate for a review.
