Thika Law Courts is making waves in Kenya because police officers arrested a popular activist, known as @Its_Bahaa, during an ongoing court session on July 16, 2025.
The activist had been present to show support for youth charged over Saba Saba Day protests.
His sudden arrest caused visible unrest inside the courtroom, with attendees questioning the move. Authorities did not immediately disclose the reason for taking him into custody.

The incident follows heightened government crackdowns on protest-related cases and online activism.
Bahaa confirmed his arrest via social media, stating he was being held at Thika Police Station.
This came a day after he had appeared at Kahawa Law Courts alongside others supporting eight youths facing terrorism charges linked to past demonstrations.
Meanwhile, officials report over 1,500 protest-related arrests nationwide, with investigations ongoing into both serious crimes and incitement allegations.
