Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has formally referred former President Barack Obama to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution, alleging his involvement in a manipulated intelligence report tied to the 2016 election.

According to Gabbard, newly released documents implicate Obama as the orchestrator of what she describes as a “treasonous conspiracy” within his administration. She also named former officials James Comey, John Brennan, and Susan Rice as key figures in the alleged scheme.

While supporters of former President Donald Trump have praised the move as long-overdue accountability, critics have denounced it as a politically motivated stunt.

Obama’s representatives have dismissed the allegations as baseless and an attempt to distract from pressing national issues.

Legal experts caution that pursuing treason charges in this case would be highly challenging, noting the strict legal thresholds required under U.S. law.
