(In US) Jimmy Swaggart, Renowned Televangelist and Gospel Artist, Dies Tuesday

 


Jimmy Swaggart, the renowned televangelist and gospel music artist, has passed away at 90.

The televangelist, who was hospitalized for heart problems in the last few weeks, died at a hospital in Baton Rouge today, July 1.

Jimmy Swaggart was one of the most well-known televangelists in America. He was the senior pastor of the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Swaggart wrote about 50 Christian books offered through his ministry. He sold over 15 million records worldwide as a gospel artist and he also received one Grammy Award nomination.
