Barack and Michelle Obama have responded to ongoing speculation about the state of their marriage. The rumors of a potential divorce between the former US president and the former first lady were addressed during a recent episode of “In My Opinion,” a podcast hosted by Michelle’s brother, Craig Robinson.

During the episode, Michelle jokingly pointed out how quickly people assume trouble when the two are not seen together. “Whenever we’re not together, folks think we’re divorced,” she said with a laugh. Barack added that he usually doesn’t hear about such rumors unless someone brings it to his attention. “I don’t even know this stuff’s going on. Then somebody will mention it, and I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’”
The couple seemed relaxed and unfazed by the speculation. Rather than make a big public statement, they used a light-hearted moment with family to quietly and clearly deny any marital issues. The response also emphasized their close bond and sense of humor, traits that have defined their relationship throughout their years in the public eye.
In the same podcast, Michelle Obama went beyond addressing the rumors and took a moment to reflect on her marriage and how it has shaped her life. Speaking sincerely, she said, “There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I’ve thought about quitting on my man.”
She acknowledged that their relationship has had both tough and joyful times but stressed the strength and growth that came from it. Michelle credited Barack for helping her become a better version of herself: “I have become a better person because of the man I’m married to.”
The couple’s candid remarks stood as a strong public statement about enduring love, mutual respect, and partnership. It was a reminder that not everything seen or not seen in public is a sign of trouble. The Obamas remain united, strong, and committed to each other.
