The South African Police Service (SAPS) has refuted false reports alleging that Tshwane businessman Jerry Boshoga, who went missing in November 2024, was found dead.

The 46-year-old entrepreneur’s disappearance sparked unverified rumors, including claims that his kidnapping was orchestrated by Vusumuzi "CAT" Matlala.

Days after Boshoga vanished, his family received videos showing him being tortured, with kidnappers demanding a R60 million ransom, later reduced to R10 million in January 2025. SAPS emphasized that stories of Boshoga’s death are “unverified, misleading, and false,” and confirmed that the investigation into his kidnapping is at a “sensitive” stage.
