The ongoing saga between Nkosana Makate, the inventor of the "Please Call Me" service, and Vodacom has taken a new turn. The Constitutional Court has referred the case back to the Supreme Court of Appeal.
The Constitutional Court ruled that The Supreme Court of Appeal failed to give the case the proper attention it deserved and made several errors in its latest judgment to award Kenneth Makate billions in compensation.

The ongoing legal battle between Kenneth Makate and Vodacom, has lingered for 25 years.
In the year 2000, Makate, a former Vodacom employee, reportedly came up with the idea for the 'Please Call Me' product. At the time he was in a long-distance relationship with his now wife, and came up with the invention as a resolution to their communication difficulties.
