(In South Africa) Mary Phadi Expelled from MK Party and Legislative Role After Court Ruling




Mary Phadi, former Mpumalanga convener of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP), has been officially removed from the party following a ruling by the Mbombela High Court.




The court not only declared that Phadi is no longer a member of the MK Party but also revoked her seat in the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature. In its ruling, the court stated that her membership was lawfully terminated due to serious misconduct.

According to the judgment, Phadi defied party structures, insulted senior officials, and organized rival rallies, actions which the court deemed valid grounds for her dismissal.



The ruling has sparked political discussion across Mpumalanga and beyond, highlighting internal tensions within the MKP.
