Mamelodi Sundowns have bolstered their squad with the signing of 28-year-old defender Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch FC for an undisclosed fee, announced on July 26, 2025.

The Bafana Bafana international, known for his versatility and consistency, joins the Betway Premiership champions after a stellar three-year stint at Stellenbosch, where he made 111 appearances, scored 8 goals, and provided 18 assists. Basadien’s arrival at Chloorkop strengthens Sundowns’ defensive options as they prepare for the 2025/26 season, including the MTN8 quarter-final against Richards Bay on August 3.
