(In Nigeria) President Bola Tinubu Rewards Super Falcons Players with $100K Each, Apartments, and National Honours for WAFCON Triumph

President Bola Tinubu has announced a generous reward package for the Super Falcons following their exceptional performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). Each player will receive $100,000, a three-bedroom apartment, and a national honour Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

Members of the technical crew will also be rewarded with $50,000 each.

The announcement has sparked widespread discussion nationwide, with many praising the recognition of the team’s achievement while others question the scale of the rewards amid Nigeria’s ongoing economic struggles.

In a further show of support, the Nigerian Governors Forum contributed ₦360 million ₦10 million from each state to celebrate the team.
