(In Nigeria) Omisore Calls Governor Adeleke a "Political Orphan," Warns Against Desperate Move to Join APC

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has been described as a "political orphan" by Senator Iyiola Omisore, who alleged that the governor is struggling and pleading to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

During an interview on Channels TV, Omisore emphasized that the APC is not an “open market,” stating that joining the party requires grassroots backing and structured consultations—not desperation or informal approaches.

His remarks come amid speculation over Adeleke’s possible defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Omisore pointed out that while many PDP members in Osun have defected to the APC, no significant APC figures have joined the PDP under Adeleke’s leadership.

He advised the governor to focus on building internal strength within his current party rather than attempting to force his way into the APC, asserting that true leadership must reflect collective interest and party discipline.
