Lagos socialite Olasheni Johnson Adeyinka, popularly known as Abu Abel, has refuted claims of involvement in a ₦477 million land fraud through a statement issued by his legal counsel. Titled "Setting The Records Straight," the statement clarifies that Abu Abel legally purchased the disputed land through agents representing the Ojomu Chieftaincy Family.

The controversy arose after Doyin Investment Group of Companies filed a petition, alleging that Abu Abel fraudulently sold them three plots of land located at Augustina Orji Street, within Ojomu Chieftaincy Family land in Oke-Arin Village, Mayegun, Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos. Following the petition, Abu Abel was reportedly arrested at a hideout in Victoria Island.
