(In Ghana) President Mahama Launches “No Fees Stress” Policy to Eliminate First-Year Tertiary Tuition




President John Dramani Mahama has officially launched the “No Fees Stress” policy in Koforidua on July 4, 2025, delivering on a major campaign promise to support access to higher education.




The initiative eliminates academic fees for all first-year students enrolled in public tertiary institutions across Ghana. During the launch event, the first group of beneficiaries received tuition refunds, marking the policy’s immediate implementation.

“No Fees Stress” is a key component of Mahama’s “Reset Ghana” agenda, which focuses on easing financial burdens for vulnerable families while empowering youth through education.
