(In Ghana) Fuel Price Hike: John Jinapor Accused of Lying About Dumsor Levy Impact

 

Ghana's Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, is facing accusations of misleading the public about the Dumsor levy, amid a 9% increase in fuel pump prices. 

Netizens have slammed the minister for lying to Parliament that the Dumsor levy (D-levy) won't affect pump prices.

In June, while speaking on the floor of Parliament, John Jinapor assured that the introduced Energy Sector Levy(Dumsor levy) which requires Ghanaians to pay an additional 1 cedi per liter of fuel purchased, would in no way affect fuel prices.
