Aubynn’s path to Parliament followed a tense and closely contested rerun election, where she narrowly defeated her opponent, Akua Afriyie of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The rerun was held in 19 polling stations after the Electoral Commission nullified the results from the December 2024 general elections in those areas due to reported irregularities.

Despite the controversy surrounding the rerun, Aubynn ultimately emerged victorious and is now set to take her seat in the legislative chamber, marking a significant political milestone in the Ablekuma North constituency.
