1. Maintain a Healthy Diet
A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, especially tomatoes (which contain lycopene), cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli and cabbage), and foods high in omega-3 fatty acids, may help protect the prostate. Avoid processed meats, excess red meat, and high-fat dairy, which have been linked to higher risk.
2. Exercise Regularly
Physical activity helps maintain a healthy weight and boosts overall immune function. Men who exercise regularly are less likely to develop aggressive forms of prostate cancer. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days, walking, jogging, swimming, or even gardening count.
3. Get Regular Screenings
If you're over 50, or over 40 with a family history, regular check-ups and discussions with your doctor about PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) testing can help detect cancer early when it's most treatable. Early detection can save lives.
