U.S. to Close Embassy in Jerusalem from Wednesday to Friday Due to Security Concerns

 

The United States announced that its embassy in Jerusalem will be temporarily closed from Wednesday, June 18, through Friday, June 20, citing the current security situation in the region. The closure includes the embassy’s Consular Sections in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

In a statement on Tuesday, the U.S. State Department explained that the decision was made to ensure the safety of diplomatic staff and to adhere to Israeli guidance amid ongoing regional tensions and conflict escalation.
