President Volodymyr Zelenskiy of Ukraine reaffirmed on Sunday his commitment to continuing prisoner swaps with Russia. He emphasized that any failure by Moscow to uphold humanitarian agreements casts doubt on broader international efforts to end the over three-year conflict.
Zelenskiy also warned Ukrainians to remain vigilant to air raid alerts following intense Russian airstrikes. His comments came after Russian officials accused Ukraine of postponing the latest prisoner exchange indefinitely, a claim Kyiv has denied.
In his nightly address, Zelenskiy stated that Ukraine had not yet received the complete list of prisoners to be released under talks held in Turkey. He criticized Russia for playing "dirty political and information games" in these negotiations and stressed the importance of achieving tangible results.
He expressed hope that exchanges would continue and reaffirmed Ukraine’s dedication to diplomatic efforts. Zelenskiy concluded by urging citizens to be attentive to upcoming air raid warnings to stay safe.
