Overnight, Ukraine launched drone strikes targeting Russia’s Kursk and Voronezh regions, resulting in fires and traffic disruptions, according to regional officials. The attacks come amid ongoing tensions as peace talks between Russia and Ukraine are anticipated, aiming to find a resolution to the more than three-year-long conflict.
Russian air defense units successfully shot down 162 Ukrainian drones overnight, with 57 intercepted over the Kursk region that borders Ukraine. Falls of drone debris caused fires in several houses and damaged private apartments, as reported by Alexander Khinshtein, acting governor of Kursk.

In Voronezh, where 16 Ukrainian drones were destroyed, regional governor Alexander Gusev stated that debris cut power lines and fell onto the M-4 highway, a major route connecting Moscow, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, and Krasnodar. This resulted in the temporary closure of a section of the expressway and damage to the facades of several houses.
Despite the damage, no injuries have been reported, and authorities have not indicated any casualties from the strikes.
