UK Politics Heats Up: Starmer and Badenoch Clash Over International Priorities and Defence Spending

G7 and NATO are making waves with Kemi Badenoch in the United Kingdom because the Conservative leader criticised Prime Minister Keir Starmer for missing two sessions of Prime Minister’s Questions, accusing him of avoiding scrutiny while attending international summits.

Badenoch claimed Starmer returned only to repeat what was already on the news, sparking political backlash and raising questions about the balance between global diplomacy and domestic accountability.

Starmer responded by dismissing Badenoch’s remarks as “unserious,” defending his attendance at the G7 and NATO summits as essential to strengthening UK global alliances.

He argued that national security and international leadership must not be trivialised for partisan gain.

Meanwhile, critics within and outside Parliament accused Badenoch of point-scoring, reigniting debate over how government leaders should prioritise domestic duties and international representation.
