Real Madrid's Asencio not yet out of the water, faces 4 YEARS in prison over s*x video scandal

Real Madrid's Asencio not yet out of the water, faces 4 YEARS in prison over s*x video scandal Real Madrid defender Raúl Asencio is embroiled in a serious legal controversy, facing a potential four-year prison sentence over allegations he shared a sexually explicit video involving a minor. The incident occurred in June 2023 at a Gran Canaria beach club, where three former Real Madrid youth players, Ferran Ruiz, Andres Garcia, and Juan Rodriguez, allegedly recorded a consensual sexual encounter involving a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old without their consent. Asencio, who was not present during the recording, is accused of receiving the video, knowing it involved a minor and was non-consensual, and showing it to a third party. Prosecutors and the 16-year-old victim’s legal team are pushing for a four-year sentence on charges of revealing secrets and distributing child pornography. They also seek €58,000 in compensation for the minor and a daily fine of €20 for 10 months. The 18-year-old victim may file a similar complaint. Both women reportedly suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, per court documents. Spain’s Criminal Code could impose three-and-a-half to five years for recording and sharing such content, though sharing alone might reduce Asencio’s sentence to two to three years. Evidence includes a voice note from September 2023 where Asencio allegedly admits to receiving the video and a witness confirming he shared it. Despite the charges, the 22-year-old has continued playing for Real Madrid, stepping into the first team amid an injury crisis. He’s featured in 40 matches under Carlo Ancelotti, including Champions League semi-finals and a recent win over Mallorca. The scandal has sparked outrage, with fans from rival clubs like Barcelona and Real Sociedad chanting for his imprisonment during matches. Asencio’s legal battle looms large as his football career hangs in the balance.
