Kenyan Netizens Demand Justice for Eli Joshua After Alleged Police Shooting

 


A police officer named Benjamin Tanui has been thrust into the spotlight following allegations that he fatally shot Eli Joshua, a mask hawker, during recent protests in Nairobi. Netizens claim Tanui, believed to be from Nandi Hills, fired at the unarmed vendor at close range. 

Videos and posts have gone viral, but there has been no official confirmation or statement from the Kenyan police regarding the incident.

The victim, identified by online sources as Eli Joshua from Suna East, was reportedly selling face masks when he was shot.

The accused officer, Benjamin Tanui, is being labelled a “rogue cop” in viral posts. While these claims have stirred public outrage and calls for accountability, no reputable media outlet or official authority has confirmed Tanui’s involvement or the exact circumstances of the alleged shooting.
