Israeli Military Reports Cross-Border Projectiles from Syria and Yemen

The Israeli military announced on Tuesday that two projectiles fired from Syria landed in open areas within Israeli territory. It is currently unclear who was responsible for launching these projectiles, and there has been no immediate comment from Syrian authorities.

In response, Israel conducted artillery strikes in southern Syria, targeting areas in the Daraa province, according to Syrian state media. Despite the recent escalation, Syria's new government has reiterated that it does not intend to pose a threat to its neighbors, including Israel, although tensions remain high. Israel and Syria have been engaging in indirect talks aimed at easing hostilities, even as Israel continues to target Syrian military infrastructure.

Simultaneously, the Israeli Defense Forces intercepted a missile from Yemen, launched by the Iran-aligned Houthis. The Houthis have claimed they are supporting Palestinians amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, and their attacks add another layer of complexity to regional security issues.

There has been heightened concern over the potential for escalation amid ongoing hostilities and cross-border exchanges in the region.
