The Israeli military says it killed Ali Shadmani, Iran’s wartime chief of staff, in a precision airstrike on a command center in central Tehran overnight. The IDF calls him Iran’s top military commander and a close aide to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
According to the IDF, Shadmani led the Khatam al-Anbiya HQ, overseeing Iran’s combat operations and attack plans against Israel. He was appointed just days ago after his predecessor, Alam Ali Rashid, was killed in Israel’s Operation “Rising Lion.

Tensions between Israel and Iran have escalated recently, with Israel conducting multiple strikes targeting Iranian military figures and nuclear scientists. Iran has retaliated with missile barrages, some hitting Israeli sites
The IDF says the strike was based on “precise intelligence” and a “sudden opportunity.” Shadmani’s role made him a key figure in coordinating Iran’s military strategy, including missile and drone attacks against Israel.
Iran has not yet confirmed Shadmani’s death, but the reported killing follows a series of Israeli strikes that have taken out other top Iranian commanders, including Mohammad Bagheri and Hossein Salami, since Friday.
