(In United State) Killdozer Day: Remembering Marvin Heemeyer's 2004 Rampage

Today, June 4, marks the anniversary of a notorious incident in Granby, Colorado. 19 years ago, on June 4, 2004, Marvin John Heemeyer, a local business owner, gained international attention for his rampage with a modified bulldozer, demolishing numerous buildings in the town.

Heemeyer killed himself after the bulldozer became stuck in a hardware store he was destroying. No one else was injured or killed.

Heemeyer's machine was posthumously nicknamed the Killdozer.

It is unclear whether this is an allusion to the 1944 short story "Killdozer!" or its 1974 film adaptation, or if this is independent coinage.
