"UK's Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner is currently trending due to her firm stance against Conservative demands for an apology. The controversy surrounds Prime Minister Keir Starmer's previous comments criticizing far-right rhetoric. Standing in at PMQs, she accused the Tories of inaction on grooming gangs while in office.
Rayner defended Starmer’s record as former CPS chief, saying he prosecuted such crimes and demanded systemic change as early as 2012.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp claimed authorities had concealed abuse to protect community relations. Rayner responded that Labour would act on the numerous past reports. Tory leader Kemi Badenoch was criticised for emailing members, “we won,” after announcing a national inquiry.
Labour MP Natalie Fleet, a grooming survivor, condemned the Tories’ response as political point scoring and said Badenoch failed to act when she had the opportunity.
