(In the United Kingdom) Hawksmoor Faces Boycott Threats After Ejecting Tommy Robinson Over Staff Discomfort

Hawksmoor, a renowned steakhouse in the United Kingdom, is facing significant backlash and threats of a boycott following an incident involving far-right activist Tommy Robinson, who was recently granted early release from prison. Robinson revealed on X that he was asked to leave Hawksmoor’s Air Street restaurant in London on June 5, 2025, because staff felt “uncomfortable” serving him. Former English Defence League member Guramit Singh Kalirai, who was dining with Robinson, corroborated the claim, asserting the group was removed “for no reason” after finishing their starters. In response, Hawksmoor issued a statement confirming that a “public figure” was asked to leave due to complaints from guests and staff who felt uneasy.

The restaurant clarified that the decision was not politically motivated, emphasizing its commitment to providing a welcoming environment for all, regardless of views. The incident, captured in a viral video posted by Kalirai, has sparked heated debate online, with Robinson’s supporters calling for a boycott of Hawksmoor, accusing the restaurant of discrimination. The controversy, amplified on platforms like X, highlights tensions surrounding public figures and the hospitality industry’s handling of controversial patrons.
