Her creative genius bridges tradition and modernity, making her a celebrated figure in global art circles.

Esther Mahlangu, a South African artist from the Ndebele nation, is famous for decorating vehicles and buildings with exotic, vivid designs. She pioneered the transfer of traditional Ndebele mural painting onto canvas, opening new platforms for indigenous art. 

Her work has earned her three honorary doctorates from the University of Johannesburg, Tshwane University of Technology, and Durban University of Technology, recognising her role in promoting African heritage.
