(In South African) Missing Free State Teen Found Alive and Rescued After 20 Days; Five Suspects Arrested in Daring Operation



Kamogelo Baukudi, a 19-year-old Grade 11 student from Free State, South Africa, who was abducted on his way to school on June 5, 2025, has been found alive. The teenager was rescued in a dramatic early-morning operation in Wepener on June 27, more than 20 days after he was reported missing in Bloemfontein.

In an intelligence-driven mission, the South African Police Service apprehended five suspects linked to the abduction. According to Provincial Police Spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, three of the suspects were caught on a township road with Baukudi, while two others were arrested at a nearby house in the same area. The successful rescue has brought immense relief to Baukudi’s family and the community, marking a significant breakthrough in the case.
